Scooby-Doo, such a classic cartoon that always has a way of making me feel nostalgic for those carefree childhood days when Saturday mornings were devoted to hours of cartoons watching. Is there a better-loved classic than Scooby-Doo?  Of course there are lots but right now we’re talking all things Scooby-Doo. My girls had the fortunate luck of being my date for Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries tour stop at The Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach!

In this live musical production, Scooby-Doo and The Mystery Live Inc. crew set out on an adventure that features the Peabody Auditorium! I thought it was clever how the production incorporated the Peabody Auditorium locale and characters that work at the Peabody Auditorium into the script. It was a great way to make the audiences feel as if this musical production was just for them, no matter which city and theater the tour is in.

Starting right off with Scooby-Doo walking out  to the stage while the rest of the familiar cast sang the theme song – “Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?”, the kids were hooked. Throughout the entire show, there was lots of great action, song and dance that had the kids excited–out of their seats jumping up and down and clapping wildly. Along with the songs (there were some new songs written for the show - including one we really liked called “We’re Mystery Inc.”), the props were a thrill to see. The set design and props were well-executed, giving the entire show that ‘Scooby-Doo’ show feeling. And the classic Mystery Machine mobile was awesome. It was a lot of fun to see Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby-Doo riding across the stage the Mystery Machine. It’s one of those things that would be upsetting if the production left that out. In fact, the scenes that featured the cast in the mobile were among my son’s favorite.

Scooby-Doo Live! is a fun show! So grab your kids and your favorite Scooby snack and go have a great time!

Though the production was only in Daytona Beach Fl for one day, the Scooby-Doo! Live Musical Mysteries is on tour throughout other U.S. cities until June. There may be a stop at a city near you, full tour and ticket information can be found here.

My family and I recently had the opportunity to visit the Orlando Science Center, here in Orlando Florida and boy did we have an AMAZING time! If you live in and around the Central Florida area or are coming to the area for a visit the science center needs to be a must see on your summer list of things to do!

We had the chance to attend on June 2,2013 when the Blue Man Group from Universal Studios was there to unveil their new exhibit there at the science center, and for someone like myself who has never seen a Blue Man Group show, this was a special treat to get to see them up close and in person like this! 

The crowd was amazed at the Blue Man Group. The group started up on the fourth floor of the science center and walked all the way down to level two where their exhibit can be found. They did this, do give all the attendees that day a chance to interact with them.

Once they made it down to the second level where their exhibit is housed they roamed the area to check out all the fun things you can experience in the Blue Man Group Making Waves section. They got down and played with the kids, before making their way to the stage and playing some music for us!

There are so many different sensory items in this exhibit to check out like the pvc pipe drums, sand and belly drums, entry tubes, a theremin organ and many much more! My girls loved the pvc pipes that you get to play just like the Blue Man Group does in their shoes, what was even neater was they had songs up there for you to try and play like Mary Had a Little Lamb!

Once we finished making waves in the Blue Man exhibit we went and explored the rest of the Science Center. They have other exhibits right now like Clifford The Big Red Dog, another favorite of my girls, we played in this are for at least thirty minutes or more. Delivering mail to the different houses, making play food, dressing up like Clifford and friends there are so many options and so much fun.

But during our entire trip the girls could not stop talking about the Orange Grove they wanted to visit the Orange Grove. So once we made our way down to the first floor, and visited with the different reptiles they have on display, such as turtles, alligators, snakes and much more we made our way to the Kid Zone where they have several different hands on activities for the kids to choose from.  This is where the Orange Grove is, and the kids can go there and learn about Orange’s and the making of Orange Juice, because you know in Florida that is important

It is so easy to spend at least two hours or more in the Orlando Science Center, and have that quality time you are looking for with you family plus while you are having fun the kids are learning! What I like about it are the prices are inexpensive as well, admission for adults is $19 and for children 3-11 it is $13, and now for the summer, the science center has extended their hours on Friday and Saturday nights! From June 14- to August 17 on Friday and Saturday nights the center will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.! That means more fun time in store for my family and yours too!
